The Future of Education

In a long series of articles, we’ve discussed education, the best models to use, how to improve the well-being of everyone involved, and overall, how the future of education should look.

With this article, we aim to give an overview of all the key points we talked about and show you the underlying themes of well-being, mindfulness, and happiness in all of them. These are the concepts in which we fully believe and wish for the world to implement in their education systems, as well as beyond. Only through happiness for all can we hope to create a better world for humanity.

Positive Education

Positive education stems from positive psychology, and its primary objectives of well-being and improvement should be something that future education systems need to incorporate.

We talked about the many organizations that strive to implement real education in schools around the globe, and how the movement is already taking firmer roots in the Western countries, especially in Australia.

Educating the Whole Being

Positive education offers insights into how we can teach the whole being, and its core objectives need to be included to achieve this.

Anthroposophy and the subsequently developed Waldorf system offer great insights and provide developed methods which can help us achieve education for the whole being.

New Systems That Can Improve Education

We’ve discussed the new systems that strive to improve education, which is the primary goal of all of us. Theory U and the concept of Exponentiality are the leading movements that aim to create true leaders and use technology respectively, to change and improve education and the entire world.

Bringing Mindfulness to Schools

The technique of mindfulness is something every human should incorporate into their lives as it can improve both their physical and mental health and overall well-being.

We’ve stressed the importance of introducing the technique into schools. Movements like the Holistic Life Foundation and the Inner Explorer Institute are already doing so and have shown amazing results.

Don’t Forget the Teachers

Most of what we’ve talked by now focus on the well-being of students, but to have a truly excellent education system, we need to pay more attention to the teachers and their well-being.

The Wake Up Schools approach and the rest of Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings aim to do precisely that. They recognize the importance teachers have in the system and to the students, and they strive to improve their lives so that they will do the same for their students.

The Revolution Brought Upon by AI

We talked that many modern technologies can bring improvements to education and the entire world, and none more so than Artificial Intelligence.

AI has the potential to revolutionize the education system and create an environment where everyone can get to their fullest potential. It will enable all of us to focus on our soft skills, and leave the rest to the machines.

Experience-Based Learning

We have recognized the benefits of experience-based learning and its advantages over the traditional models used in most of the world.

The system fully incorporates the well-being and happiness of students and teachers, but it also imparts knowledge more effectively.

The Finnish Model

Out of all the education models in the world, none comes closer to perfection than the Finnish model.

It has proven for decades its successfulness and benefits, and more importantly, it truly cares for the well-being and development of the children.

The Bottom Line

The models, systems, organizations, and movements we talked about, all provide some critical insights into what the future of education should look like. As long as the proper development, happiness, and well-being of students and teachers are involved, a magnificent future for education is assured.
