Emma will talk about her own experience of deciding to leave her high flying financial career to become a Buddhist nun. A journey involving both moments of insight and longer periods of gradual change.
In her book "Set Free" she describes the decision to become a nun as partially this:
‘Alcohol and sex were left behind. I was tired of old habits. I had been tough on me all my life. I had tried and tried and not relaxed. I had looked for happiness - in painting, in money, in relationships. I had looked outwards and never found it.’
Emma will discuss some of what she has learnt in deciding to walk her path to happiness and the mental attitudes and strategies which have been of use.
